Coordinate design development and/or assist in providing technical direction to the scope of projects; provide senior:level technical expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contracts for construction. Responsible for gross revenue of 1M:2MUtilizes sound electrical engineering practices to develop designs and reports.Prepares power system studies for AC and DC electrified railway systems.Prepares computer simulations and studies including AC and DC load flow, short:circuit availability, motor:starting, and protective relay coordination studies.Performs site investigations in substations and along railroad tracks.Prepares technical and cost proposals.Prepares and make interview presentations.Assist project management with administrative operations.Cost control on projects and quality control within discipline.Planning, design and construction phases of pleteness and accuracy of design team work.Participate in the hiring, supervision, development, evaluation, and termination of staff members. The number of employees directly supervised is typically between 1 and 3 Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10 years of experience.PE RequiredThe below experience is preferred:Experience in electrified railway substation and power distribution systems designs in:AC and DC rail transit traction power substationsWayside cable plantCircuit breakersSwitchgearTransformersRectifiersSCADA and PLC Protection SystemsOverhead catenary and third rail characteristics Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight:hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.
