Amec Foster Wheeler Environment and Infrastructure is currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with at least 10 years working experience to work within our Process Engineering group to support a number of projects in the pharmaceutical engineering sectors at our Philadelphia, PA office. Key Responsibilities Ensures the successful design and delivery of automation, instrumentation and low voltage systemsAssists with the development and presentation of proposals giving advice on the proper execution strategyDefines the Automation requirements at the proper level of detail considering the type of Project (Conceptual, Basic, Detailed Design)Supports the development of cost estimatesAccountable for the man:hours budget assigned to Projects and for the compliance with the Project schedulePrepares System Architectures, Technical Specifications, Material Requisitions related to Process Automation, Building Automation and Low Voltage Systems; supports the preparation of related layouts (cable trays, low voltage, F and G layouts etc.)Supports the other disciplines (e.g. commenting P and IDs, collaborating to the preparation of Functional Specifications, commenting Process packages Material Requisitions)Carries out the Technical Evaluation of the bids of Vendors and Sub:ContractorsTechnically leads several projects simultaneouslyHas the capability to drive the automation Contractors during the detailed design phase so that they maintain the proper path in terms of quality of design and scheduleBS or MS in Automation, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering10 + years of experience in the design of process automation systems for pharma facilities (biotech, API) as well as in design of Building Automation SystemsStrong knowledge of process automation platforms on the market (i.e. Emerson Delta V, Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ....)Knowledge of ISA S88 and ISA S95 standardsApplied knowledge of GAMP V standard for computer system validationExperience in specifying field instruments and panelsGood interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environmentKnowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplinesMust know how to effectively lead projects, coordinate contractors, cross:collaborate and direct the activities of techniciansCapability to coordinate resourcesFamiliar with execution of medium to large projectsExcellent interpersonal skills, writing skillsTravel may be required (up 25)We are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
