Stantec is hiring an Electrical Engineer : Buildings to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Serves as the Engineer:of:Record and internal technical design expert on assigned projectsSupports project requirements including basis:of design narratives, opinions:of:probable:cost estimates, drawing documentation, systems design and technical specificationsCollaborates with project managers and supporting design staffActively participates in the development of design staff through work on projects and serves as a trainer, mentor and resource for junior staffHandles design development and document preparation in written and computer:aided design formatsEffectively delegates work to supporting staffPerforms site visits for field surveys, construction observation, and punch listsResearches, prepares, and presents coordinated design optionsReviews drawings and researches code requirements to comply with city, state, and county regulationsInteracts with key clients and project stakeholdersProvides input on the creation and editing of technical specificationsProvides contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standardsCollaborates with the practice and market leaders to obtain and disseminate technical knowledgePeriodically acts as QC reviewer on projects and participates in project peer reviewsMaintains current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthens skillsBachelors degree in related field plus 10 years of related professional experience in architectural engineering field; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skillsPE license requiredAbility to independently prepare and review detailed drawingsStrong knowledge of discipline:specific systems for the built environmentStrong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 72 and 101, and the International Building Code)Experience with Sustainable Design and Alternative Energy; LEED AP certification is a plusAbility to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledgeStrong written and verbal communication skillsFunctional knowledge of current lighting calculation software (AGI32, Visual), and power study software (SKM, ETAP, Paladin DesignBase)Strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeProfessional experience in designing educational environments preferredFamiliarity with various construction delivery processesKnowledge of specialty calculations applicable to design discipline
