Primary responsibilities include the inspection of stormwater management systems at existing and proposed facilities, with a focus on active construction sites, to ensure the proper installation of approved management practices. Inspects a variety of construction projects in process, and upon completion, to ensure compliance with approved stormwater management plans, specifications and other requirements; ensures that contractors have the required permits and prerequisite approvals to do the construction work.
inspection and oversight of construction activities as they relate to the installation of Stormwater Management Practices (SMPs) and maintenance of Erosion and Sedimentation (E and S) Controls. Will be responsible for ensuring systems are installed in accordance with the approved Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) Post Construction Stormwater Management Practice (PCSMP) as well as any Field Change submissions. Will be required to schedule and conduct inspections at development sites, track construction progress in a database system, issue inspection reports in a timely manner, and communicate construction related issues to the development project team and appropriate PWD staff.
This position also involves the support of PWD's post:construction inspection program, which includes both routine maintenance inspections and enforcement inspections. Will be responsible for ensuring sites remain in compliance with the Approved PCSMP through long:term maintenance. As part of the post:construction inspection work, inspector will assist PWD in setting inspection schedules, notifying property owners of upcoming inspections, performing inspections, documenting physical changes to the site or SMPs, recommending corrective actions, and conveying findings and recommendations to the property owner.
Primary Responsibilities:
:Safely conduct daily SMP and E and S compliance inspections of private construction sites within a designated section of Philadelphia, PA
:Prepare inspection reports in an accurate and timely manner
:Interface with development teams and Philadelphia Water staff
:Advise the development team of corrective actions required to maintain site compliance
:Other tasks as assigned
Job Level:
Entry Level (1:3 years). Training and certification to be provided as required.
Work Location: Philadelphia office with travel to Philadelphia jobsites. Company vehicle provided.
45,000.00 to 54,000.00 /year (Commensurate with Experience), with full benefits : medical, dental and paid time off (PTO).
