Civil Project Engineer / Airport Design / Air Transportation

Job Summary for the Civil Project Engineer
The primary function of this position is to support projects in design and development and to provide services/products for air transportation industry clients by applying engineering principles and technologies so as to exceed clients expectations. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of engineering planning, design, and construction phase assignments on a range of airport projects. Person will be responsible for assisting senior staff to facilitate production of deliverables with design team.
Essential Functions of the Civil Project Engineer
:Provide design services on a variety of projects including planning and design for horizontal and vertical geometry, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, pavement design and quantity take:offs
:Prepare clear and concise reports and exhibits
:Prepare construction plans and specifications
:Prepare design and construction schedules
:Interpret Federal Aviation Administration and other regulator design standards and apply standards appropriately
:Assist as necessary with permit applications, drawings and computer:aided design (CAD) work
:Exercise appropriate judgement on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work
:Perform research and investigations
:Relay information from project manager/senior staff to other members of design team
:Make basic design decisions using sound engineering principles
Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Abilities of the Civil Project Engineer
:Basic to broad knowledge and skills of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods
:Proficiency in Civil
engineering/design/CAD software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering required : Civil 3D, AviPlan, NavisWorks, GIS
:Aviation knowledge or experience preferred
Training and Experience Requirements for the Civil Project Engineer
:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology, Masters a plus
:Engineer:in:Training required, P.E. preferred
:4+ years of engineering experience
