Job Description:/h3:
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or a related field to support the Programs numerous ongoing projects designed to increase public understanding of organ donation and transplantation in the general public and multi:cultural audiences.
Responsibilities include:
*Act as point person from GLDP in high school and college campaigns (PRSSA NODAC competition, AMA Saves Lives) : schedule meetings, provide materials and ideas, assist in event planning and execution
*Assist Team Leader in organizing community education programs to promote donation awareness and donor registration, including student summits and school grant program
*Assist in photo and video shoots to be used as marketing and promotional material.
*Assist in logistics and planning for Dash
*Develop and implement social media strategies for Donate Life Delaware Facebook page
*Write text for marketing material: help in the development of flyers, write articles for internal newsletter
*Provide support as needed in Community Relations
*Assist with community outreach campaigns and special events.
*Assist with high school and college outreach efforts.
*Develop and write content for social media platforms, newsletter articles, stories, and press releases.
*Assist with maintaining database and community/media lists.
*Restock public education materials as needed.
Requirements: We are looking for college students in their Junior or Senior year with excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills; ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers; experience in working in a professional office environment; ability to lift 30 lbs. and set up displays and tables as required; ability to travel and work throughout the Gift of Life service area for special events/projects; ability to work evenings and weekends as required; valid drivers license and automobile required; public speaking and community outreach experience preferred; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint required; ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
This is a part time paid internship opportunity. We are currently looking for someone to intern starting in August/September and work through December (or longer if possible).
