Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson College of Health Professions Chair, Department of Occupational Therapy Jefferson College of Health Professions (Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences, as of July 1, 2018) is seeking an innovative and visionary leader for the position of Chair, Departmentof Occupational Therapy, effective July 1, 2018. With the recent merger of Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University, Jefferson is located on two distinct campuses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania- Center City and East Falls. The Department of Occupational Therapy comprises two well-established and highly respected entry-level Master's programs across both campuses, both of which were recently reaccredited by ACOTE, an established post-professional doctoral program, and a newly accredited entry-level doctoral program on the Center City Campus. Our program is currently ranked #6 by US News and World Report, and both campuses have higher than average student pass rates on the NBCOT exam. The Department's experienced faculty are committed to preparing competent and innovative occupational therapists as the leaders of tomorrow, to engage in service, practice, and leadership, and to conduct research that advances the profession. Faculty have established long-standing collaborative projects with the Clinical Skills Simulation Center, the Jefferson Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering, and Commerce. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to partner with faculty on both campuses and across the University to create innovations in education, scholarship, and practice. Qualifications: The position is a 12-month full-time appointment. Applicant must be a licensed and nationally certified occupational therapist, and hold an earned PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational therapy practice, administration or supervision. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to experiential interprofessional education, and show evidence of scholarship and teaching effectiveness.
