Job Announcement: Program Manager
The Middle East Forum (MEF) seeks a full:time Program Manager to plan and coordinate its 50 or so events each year.
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Program Manager is responsible for the Forums in:person and online programming, including: donor lunches, conferences, briefings, lecture series, webinars, and speaking engagements. The person in this position serves as a point of contact for board members, donors, and subscribers. It requires professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality.
Roles and Responsibilities
:Stay up to date on current events and experts in MEFs subject areas; propose ideas for events and speakers.
:Plan events in Philadelphia, across the country, and overseas that raise awareness, cultivate potential donors, and inspire continued donor relationships.
:Search for and book venues, draft and send out invitations, coordinate logistics, from name tags and guest sign:in to audio:visual aides and security.
:Occasionally facilitate concierge services for VIP speakers and donors.
:Develop marketing materials.
:Use Salesforce to track event invitations, registrations, follow up efforts, and solicitations.
:Use Asana to organize and complete assigned program related tasks.
:Attend some events.
:Follow up on events.
:Develop events to engage new audiences and demographics.
:Ensure personalized and timely communications with board members, donors, and subscribers.
Candidate qualifications:
:Agreement with MEFs mission and outlook (for more, see here:
:Salaried position in a related job (e.g., events, marketing, sales, business development).
:Computer literacy and technological proficiency in standard applications such as Outlook 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
:Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other technologies (preferably Salesforce, Asana, Slack, and Dropbox).
:Organized work habits, high motivation, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast:paced environment with frequent deadlines.
:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
:Exceptional interpersonal skills.
:The successful candidate will work in the Forums office in Center City, Philadelphia.
:Some travel will be expected for events located in the Northeastern U.S.

The Middle East Forum, founded in 1994 and headed by Daniel Pipes, is a research institute based in Philadelphia with an annual budget of 4 million; it promotes American interests in the Middle East and protects Western values from Middle Eastern threats. It accomplishes its mission in three ways:
Intellectually, by providing information, context, and policy advice through its publications, websites, and lectures;
Operationally, by exerting direct influence through its projects (such as Islamist Watch), each addressing a specific problem; and
Philanthropically, by annually distributing 2 million of dedicated Education Fund monies.
