Montgomery Early Learning Centers is seeking a full:time Young Toddler Lead Teacher who will lead a young toddler classroom. This opportunity is housed at our NAEYC accredited Infant Friendship Center (a Star 4 Early Childhood Center) located in West Philadelphia. Our premier center offers infant to preschool care. This is a full:time position with competitive salary and benefits such as comprehensive medical and a 401K with a 4 employer match.
Hours of the Position: 8:00 to 5:00
Formal Education, Work Experience and Certification:
BA in ECE or Related field with 30 credits in ECE, preferred
AA in ECE, required
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong understanding of child development of toddlers
A nurturing teaching approach
Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfortable interacting with parents/guardians
Knowledge and understanding of Keystone Stars and Department of Human Services (DHS)
Physically capable of performing necessary tasks which may include: lifting, carrying, supporting and otherwise caring for young children
At least one year of verified experience working with toddlers

Early Childhood Education programs are comprised of infant, toddler, preschool, and pre:k classrooms including Early Head Start, Head Start and Pre:K Counts. School Age programs provide before and after school care to children in the Colonial, Jenkintown, Lower Merion, and Pottstown school districts. Additionally, the Lower Merion School Age Program offers Kindergarten Jr. and Kindergarten Enrichment programs.
Unique to a child care provider, MELC has our own professional development and technical assistance unit, Professional Development (PD) Dimensions. PD Dimensions ensures that our teachers have all of the current tools and resources to provide the highest quality of care and education to our children.
MELCs focus is on providing the highest quality care and education. All of our programs participate in Keystone STARS and have a STAR 3 or 4 rating. MELC is also nationally recognized by organizations including National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Council on Accreditation (COA). We are also members of Pennsylvania Child Care Association (PACCA) and Early Care and Education Consortium (ECEC).
