Job Summary 13;
The CRC III functions independently within the Pediatric IDEAS (Infectious Diseases Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship) Research Group and is responsible for the complete coordination of assigned clinical research activities. May have supervisory responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities 13;
The CRC III is responsible for any of the following:
Applies in:depth knowledge of clinical research and independently coordinates the activities of 1 or more large:scale, complex multi:center retrospective and/or prospective studies
Under the guidance of the principal investigator(s), assists in the design, planning and execution of research studies in infectious diseases, critiquing protocol feasibility and providing recommendations
Conducts literature searches; performs data entry, data management and statistical analyses
Provides oversight in the preparation, management and monitoring of study budgets
Accountable for study oversight at one or more sites/institutions including preparation for internal/external regulatory audits (sponsor, FDA, NIH, etc)
Assists in preparation of protocols, grants, manuscripts and presentations.
Manages human subjects/IRB submissions and documentation;
Facilitates and/or leads research/project team meetings
Educates and mentors internal and external clinical staff, research teams and other coordinators; provides resources, and consulting on difficult protocols or projects
May support 1 or more PI sponsored INDs or IDEs
Liaises between Research billing (CTFM) and the research team
Participates in the informed consent process of study subjects
Screens, recruits and enrolls patients/research participants
Reports adverse events
Complies with Institutional policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines
Complies with federal, state, and sponsor policies
Attends regular research group meetings where all current and proposed projects will be discussed. There are also a number of opportunities for exposure to journal club, clinical conference, hospital rounds and other clinically and/or research related activities depending on the candidates professional interests.
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations 13;
Required Education and Experience 13;
Required Education:: BA/BS in a related field
Required Experience: 5+ year(s) relevant clinical research coordination experience
Preferred Education, Experience and Cert/Lic 13;
Preferred Education: MA/MS in a related field
:2+ year(s) relevant clinical research coordination experience
:Completion of requisite Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
:Society of Clinical Research Associates : SoCRA membership or Association of Clinical Research Professionals : ACRP membership 13;
Additional Technical Requirements 13;
Ability to conduct data analysis using programs such as SAS and/or Stata and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Access
