The Center for Autism Research (CAR) Supervisory Data Integration Specialist develops and implements innovative databases and applications that solve challenging problems in the collection, management,analysis and interpretation of behavioral and biomedical data. The successful candidate will work closely with behavioral and biomedical researchers to understand data intensive scientific problems in the context of a Center with diverse, complex datasets.
The successful candidate will share our mission to advance child health and protect human research subjects and thrive in a continuous learning environment, acquiring and applying both new technical skills and behavioral and biomedical domain knowledge. Project and personnel management, strategic planning, and technical expertise in data collection,integration, security, analysis, and visualization are essential for this role. Additionally, the ability to respond quickly to emergent needs by strategizing with, training, and performing data:related tasks for a diverse group of stakeholders is a necessity.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in our current technology stack (including Linux, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Git/GitHub, AWS, R, Python, Matlab) as well as expertise in other data and computing domains, and be able to mentor staff at all levels in the use of data science technology and techniques.

The CAR Supervisory Data Integration Specialist functions as both subject matter expert and team manager.
The CAR Supervisory Data Integration Specialist will:
: Collaborate with biomedical researchers to identify significant trends in behavioral and biomedical research, formulate strategies and implementation plans for high:impact, novel approaches to generation, management, and integration of disparate, highly dimensional data types such as clinical and genomic data.
:Manage large, complex projects and define the optimal implementation path for large research initiatives. Perform requirements elicitation, estimate time and effort costs to build project budgets and timelines, and recommend staffing levels.
:Already demonstrate or rapidly develop expertise in Center behavioral and biomedical domains in order to understand requirements for data integration, optimizing data resources and applications to meet scientific needs.
:Write extract, transform, and load (ETL) procedures that combine and recombine behavioral and biomedical data into new, more useful formats and build and optimize scientific data management, data discovery, reporting, and analysis applications using a combination of off:the:shelf and custom tools.
: Directly lead and mentor junior staff in a direct supervisory capacity using strong project and personnel management skills, with a goal of team growth and continuity and staff retention. 13;
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations 13;
Required Education and Experience 13;
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Information Science, Informatics,Biomedical Engineering, Biological Science or a related discipline
At least five (5) years of experience in database development, database administration, data management, or related discipline.
At least one (1) year of small team supervisory experience.
Experience with project management of complex matrixed projects.
Experience in data modeling, ETL, and applications of highly dimensional data types such as derived from genomics and observational clinical or human subjects research data.
Preferred Education, Experience and Cert/Lic 13;
Preferred Education: Masters degree
