As a pharmacist you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. A pharmacist does not merely hand out prescribed medicine; he/she has the expertise and willingness to assist people and provide them with information and solutions. Pharmacists must also be able to provide professional advice on medications dispensed and sold Over The Counter. The goal is to ensure effective medication use and become the peoples trusted ally against health issues. That way you can deliver maximum value to both the pharmacy and the community.
Review and execute providers prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures
Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
Current License to practice in Pennsylvania
Excellent oral, written skills
Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
3 years related pharmacy experience
Physical Requirements :Position is required to frequently stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to pull medications from stock, use of hands to type; must be able to read computer screen and prescription descriptions on bottles and boxes.
