Job Summary 13;
Under the direct supervision of an RN, the Nursing Student Co:Op III participates in the delivery of nursing care to patients. This position exists within the content of a time:limited student experience. Works within the Clinical Nursing area in a support role, assisting nursing staff in the provision of care to pediatric patients and their families.

**Position may require working rotating shifts (day/evening/night), and weekends. Shifts may be a combination of 8 and 12 hours dependent on unit needs.

:Under RN supervision, assists in the provision of care to patients and families. Follows Nursing Process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
:Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and all others in a respectful, courteous, and confidential manner.
:Follows hospital and departmental procedures and policies, including but not limited to patient safety, mandatory education, confidentiality and attendance.
:Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and use monitoring equipment, under direct supervision of RN/Preceptor.
:Demonstrates high standards of professionalism by maintaining a professional image in all he/she does.
:Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet requirements of position.
:Responsible for efficient and cost effective utilization of hospital resources. 13;

:Student at an established nursing program with a co:op requirement or enrolled in NLN accredited school of nursing.:/h4:
:Must be a student in good standing in the program and have met the requirements for a position, i.e. completed the required number of credit hours and in the required year of study.:/h4:
:Completion of a minimum of one clinical rotation in Pediatrics and had experience in an acute care facility. (e.g. Nursing Co:Op II)
:According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non:laboratory personnel performing non:waived POC testing 13;
