Job Summary 13;
Entry:level research technical position in a busy immunology laboratory that supports multiple HIV clinical trial networks as well as investigator initiated projects. The successful candidate will assist the PI, laboratory supervisor and co:workers with the collection and analysis of data by properly conducting specific experiments and routine laboratory procedures including sample processing, storage and shipping. Duties will include processing and testing non:human primate blood. Additionally, the Research Tech will maintain efficient laboratory operation, as well as perform other general laboratory duties as assigned or directed, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the laboratory group.
Job Responsibilities 13;
:Performs specimen processing and assays under the direction of supervisor
:Records and checks results for completeness and accuracy
:Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log books and lab notebooks
:Performs tasks that require familiarity with fundamental techniques and equipment
:Maintains office, lab area, reagents, supplies and equipment
:Cleans and performs routine maintenance on lab equipment
:Performs clerical duties associated with the operation of a research laboratory 13;
Required Education and Experience 13;
:Associates degree, 9 : 18 months laboratory experience required
:Relevant Internship experience considered 13;
Preferred Education, Experience and Cert/Lic 13;
:Bachelors degree preferred

:The training and qualifications of all personnel trained outside of the US must be reviewed to ensure that it is equivalent to CLIA requirements, with records of the review available on:site. The equivalency evaluations should be performed by a nationally recognized organization.

Excellent communication and organizational skills are required as is flexible working hours (day shift). Qualities: Highly motivated, effective critical thinking skills, strong work ethic and research integrity, ability to learn quickly, to work independently but cooperatively with others, to exercise discretion and judgment, and pay strict attention to detail. Computer literate (PC).
